We are slowly moving toward eBook production.  " I have had amazing feedback from women who have read the book “ Lord I Go To Church, But I Can’t Get a Man”. The response has been very hopeful. It not often you come across a vocalist that is  so anointed they  it make  you weep at the sound of their voice. It is  very rare that you come across a vocalist that is 12 years old that  has such a  powerful  ability to move you in a such a way, that  it brings you to tears. There are no words to express the amazing Talent of Jotta A. A 12 years young  Brazilian child that God is using to touch people’s  hearts. Some say he may be the next Michael Jackson.      I think he hold  his own  and a unique voice God gave him. Michael was a amazing singer , however this young man is a amazing worshipper. His connection to  God and his walk with Christ is evident in his soul stirring voice!

Hallelujah! Black Classic Film

Hallelujah! (1929) is a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer musical directed by King Vidor, and starring Daniel L. Haynes and the then unknown Nina Mae McKinney.

This is one of my favorite films. Over the years I have collected black classic films.  Many of the actors and actress pioneered through racism to  make films we can remember. White Hollywood tried to embrace Black Hollywood through this  film. It is a work of art and faith.

Filmed in Tennessee and Arkansas and chronicling the troubled quest of a sharecropper, Zeke Johnson (Haynes), and his relationship with the seductive Chick (McKinney), Hallelujah! was one of the first all-black films by a major studio. It was intended for a general audience and was considered so risky a venture by MGM that they required King Vidor to invest his own salary in the production. Vidor's vision was to attempt to present a relatively non-stereotyped view of African-American life.

Hallelujah! was King Vidor's first sound film, and combined sound recorded on location and sound recorded post-production in Hollywood.^[1] King Vidor was nominated for a Best Director Oscar for the film.

In 2008, Hallelujah! was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

“Sharecroppers Zeke and Spunk Johnson sell their part of the cotton crop for $100. Cheated out of the money by Zeke's girlfriend Chick (sixteen-year-old Nina Mae McKinney, in possibly her greatest role), in collusion with her gambling-hustler friends, Spunk is murdered in the ensuing brawl. Zeke runs away and reforms his life, becoming a minister.

Sometime later, he returns and preaches a rousing revival. Now engaged to a virtuous maiden named Missy (Victoria Spivey), he finds that Chick is still interested in him. She asks for baptism but is clearly not truly repentant. Tragically, Zeke throws away his new life for her. The film then cuts to Zeke's new life; he is working at a log mill and is married to Chick, who is secretly cheating on him with her old flame, Hot Shot (William Fountaine).

When Chick and Hot Shot decide to cut and run just as Zeke finds out about the affair, Zeke follows after them. The carriage carrying both Hot Shot and Chick overturns, and Zeke catches up to them. Holding her in his arms, he watches Chick die as she apologizes to him for being unable to change her ways. Zeke then chases Hot Shot on foot. He stalks slowly through the woods and swamp while Hot Shot tries to run but continues to stumble until Zeke finally kills him. The film ends with Zeke returning to his family at the cotton crop after serving time in prison. Reggie Watts… Just Funny and Music

Artistic Humor! I have always enjoyed comedians. I grew up watching Carol Burnett and Sid Caesar. Over the years  comedians  has gotten raunchy at times but you can still find a few that are edgy, but funny. Reggie Watts combine music and comedy is a gifted crafted way. His voice is truly amazing . He uses his voice as an instrument than fascinate and amuse at the same time. His latest video is very funny. I have a fondness for musicians that can sing but you can't understand the words. Michael  McDonald  is classic example of the some what muffled beautiful sound. Reginald Lucien Frank Roger "Reggie" Watts (born March 23, 1972 in Stuttgart, Germany) is a Seattle-based comedian and musician. His shows are mostly improvised and consist of stream of consciousness stand-up in various shifting personae, mixed with loop pedal-based a cappella compositions. He performs regularly on television, radio, and in live theater. His comic skills come into play in improvisational performance, as well as performance of written music. Watts currently appears as the sidekick on the IFC talk show Comedy Bang Bang, which began airing on June 8, 2012. Watts is also a repeat guest on Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell which airs on FX, performing comedy sketches and his unique brand of solo vocal improvisations.

Disarmed or not Armed at All?

“Listen! I have given you authority, so that you can walk on snakes and scorpions and overcome all the power of the Enemy, and nothing will hurt you. But don't be glad because the evil spirits obey you; rather be glad because your names are written in heaven." Luke 10:19-20

Another thing disturbing about the paranormal shows communicating with spirits is that they disarm people, and influence them to believe that those things are not harmful. On many shows I have heard participants say “they won’t bother you: just exist with them.” If it was that easy to exist with them they would not have the show. They would not have people calling them to investigate 3 am haunting and paranormal events. I believe what they are experiencing is very real but the source of the events are causing deception to disguise what the entities really are. Locations across the world are now famous because demoniac forces in full bloom are becoming prevalent. They are becoming “stars" at these locations causing massive followings and interest that is steeped in deception.  But I will give them credit for trying to uncover thing that are paranormal that many Christian will  not deal with. There will be more show that will deal with this and more out right manifestation! Evil is coming out an all new high. It is times to be sober-minded about the thing you are experiencing around you. It is not just in your mind. The reality is as believer we have the power to deal with it. the sad p[art is that if you talk to anyone about it they will think you are crazy. That is  the state of the church. deliverance ministry are not just extract program that are hidden away in some part of the body of Christ. However the attack on families and homes are real. It will take  power from on high in Jesus name to deal with  it. It will take first addressing the evil around you and then doing what the word of God say: Rebuke and bind it in Jesus name.

One new shows deal with evil on college campus: School Spirits. This makes sense given the long history of most colleges in areas that have been through  much. The other new show Haunted Collector and Haunted Highway are trying to solve the objects and legend that are around the homes and cities of every day people. It is troubling to see them use every thing they can to deal with evil except the power of Jesus. However because these are not Christian based shows I watch them with great understanding that  the world is trying to make sense of things that are going wrong. It is not their role  and they don’t have the power from Jesus to deal with it anyway. It makes senses to see them operate with only what they know.  I give them credit for trying to unravel what most  Christian avoid. As believers we have the answer in the word of God. We can operate with revelation from what God shows us in the gift of the spirit. I am not recommending  going on  a witch hunt for evil, but deal with what is in your homes and family that is not of God. Stand up and be counted. You house is not settling again and again! Something is walking around your home and family causing torment. Stand up inside and pray for power in you to rise up and take authority as Jesus did! Jesus gave us the answer in his teachings, life, and resurrection!

It is appointed unto to man once to live and once to die. By that the word it is clear that you are cast into hell or heaven in the after life. It is God’s grace that people return from these two locations, back from death and are given a second chance. It reminds me of the story of Lazarus in the Bible. He died and was brought back to life by Jesus. It seems that these events reflect on God’s power and grace to allow people a second chance in life to finish what they started or get right before they have a final blow with death. Jesus resurrected Lazarus to show us God’s power and glory. With the understanding of what the scripture says concerning death and life and the events surrounding Lazarus it can be concluded that we do go from one stage to the other as God wills. However the concept of being a ghost still has no biblical grounds. Once we die, we are not walking around on earth haunting each other. Demons take on the form of loves ones to gain your trust then haunt you. Light can look like darkness, but it will always turn back to darkness at some point. The demon will look like loved one and respond as loves one. This open the doors for oppression and trusting in something other than God. It is historical for humans to  play with necromancy.

There are psychics who have become famous from communication with these forces making millions of dollars based upon deception. They are working with demons, spirits, and entities that assist them in knowing about the lives of the people they encounter. And no marvel for the spirit realm is vast. You can easily pick up history from people by reading their lives. History in the spirit realm in always available for psychics, but the future is never made known as far as God’s will. Only God hold the keys to our future. He reveals it to His prophets and messengers based upon his word and the Holy Spirit. There are also many false prophets in the earth claiming relationship with him but that they do not have it biblically. False prophets create deception knowingly or unknowingly using demonic powers to lead people astray. Before getting saved when I used ESP, readings, and mind control I could pick up very accurate information about people. I was rarely ever wrong. But I could only tell them things they already knew to gain their trust. The future had to be fabricated with truth + lies, and a little demonic imagination to tell them what they wanted to hear. Witchcraft is based on manipulation and intimidation. It takes a lot of truth weaved into deception to tell a really good lie. The more truth is used, the better the lie to deceive.

The 1st heaven is the sky where the clouds and lightning are, and where birds fly: Genesis 7:23 and I Kings 18:45.The 2nd heaven is the sky where the sun and moon and stars are: Matthew 24:29. The 3rd heaven is Paradise where God’s home is: Deuteronomy 10:14. John 14:2-3, and II Cor.12:2

A movie was made from the TV show "The Haunting” about the ‘Haunting in Connecticut’. The family was tormented by spirits in their house. I do believe that regions, nations, communities, houses and lands can have more than normal demonic activities based upon the territory. There are levels of spirits in that realm that try to rule over nations, cities, homes, and towns.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12

“ And it is he who gifted some to be apostles, others to be prophets, others to be evangelists, and still others to be pastors and teachers, to perfect the saints, to do the work of ministry, and to build up the body of Christ “ Ephesians 4:11-12

The operation of the office is instructive and edified the body of Christ and others in the world around us. Every thing that God creates is real and there is a counterfeit for it. It is important to study the word to know the real reflection of the calls that exist in the body of Christ. It is important to understand the truth of the different offices when confronted with the office in the word of God. Here’s a list of the similarities dimensions of the Five Fold Ministry and the fivefold Demonic that I have discerned.

The operation of the Godly Five Fold edified the body of Christ. The demonic five fold operates as in the heavens and earth with similar tasks, but opposite to the Five Fold Holy. For example a pastor deals with the soul, spirit and heart of men in counseling and shepherding. The rulers deal with the soul, spirit and heart of men in decisions that result in sin. The Teacher affects knowledge and instruction from revelation of truth. The operation of Wickedness in High places affects mistruth in society with darkness that is exercised in daily life, spirituality, and communities. The prophets are messengers of God to reveal and guide through the word of God in our daily lives. The gift of prophet is too often misused in the church. True prophets do exist, but are too often buried under legalism. The Principalities in the atmosphere affect people and societies with law, commands, legal matters, and legislation that perverts God will for his people. Principalities promote a false sense of what is truth and what is set in its place is evil working over and through governing bodies.

3 AM

We need to pray for one another to come together as one. If you are up at 3 am so is Jesus and he is ready to answer your prayers, and to fellowship with you. You are not the only one up but you are who God is using in this dark house of the times. You are the light on the hill that can not be hidden. You are God’s light in darkness so shine like a star! Be used by God in prayer, in your life, and to make each day you live a day that glorifies him. Do not be afraid of whom or what you will face but know that in you is more than enough power to change the world around you through the name of Jesus! Wake up! It’s morning and God gave you a new day as you prayed through the night. The new day has just begun! Rejoice and glorify God in this new day! So who ever is up at 3 am. Thank you for praying us all through to the morning!

Art at the Freer Museum

One of my favorite things to do is to go to a museum. Living in the DMV we have access to so many museum and historical sites. The Smithsonian campus has many amazing museums and galleries. The Freer is one of my favorite. The exhibition are always completely captivating and dominate the majority of the space with extensive works of art in each themed exhibition.  The current shows are definitely worth  your time seeing if you are in the DC area.

Whistler’s Neighborhood: Impressions of a Changing London

James McNeill Whistler (1834–1903) lived in London’s Chelsea neighborhood from 1863 until his death. Bordering the River Thames, Chelsea was home to artists, aristocrats, tradesmen, and paupers. Whistler depicted the storefronts and street life outside his door and captured a section of the city that was undergoing a dramatic transformation in the 1880s. Historic buildings were razed and replaced with mansions for the upper class, forcing the poor into squalid conditions. The Thames Embankment, a major public works project designed to improve river navigation and provide underground sewers, changed the topography of Chelsea by claiming much of the riverbank for public gardens and new residential buildings.

The diminutive etchings in Whistler’s Neighborhood: Impressions of a Changing London, which also features watercolors and small oil paintings, underscore the immediacy of the artist’s quick impressions of his evolving neighborhood. Together, the works form a panorama of Chelsea in the 1880s.

 

Abbott Thayer: The Nature of Art

Abbott Handerson Thayer (1849-1921), is recognized today for his ethereal angels, portraits of women and children, landscapes, and delicate flower paintings. A New Englander who expressed the spiritual in much of his work, he was known as a "soul painter." In his own time, his work was praised by critics even as it was popular with the public and sought after by collectors.

 

 

I really enjoyed the beauty of his work. I had studied his art in college but actually stand under  Virgin Enthroned 1891 oil was awesome.

“Thayer used his children—Mary in the center, Gerald and Gladys at her sides—as models for this painting. Its composition is based on the Renaissance type called a "sacred conversation," in which donors and saints are depicted on either side of the Virgin Mary. Contemporary critics hailed it as a masterpiece of religious painting; few understood that the painting represented Thayer's children.”

This show was everything art should be and more!

Double Latte Books

Over the years we have started many books but never had the time to finish them. In the last three years we have been on a journey to self publish our books. We have a lot to learn! However we are writing books for the Black community to fill voids we  found in Christian book stores. Ramon worked with the Christian retail market many years ago. I was a special duty journalist for the military. Together our education, many years of ministry and desire for truth has put us on a quest to write and produce art that reflects the word of God. Our desire to  write books for the community with  diversity is an urgency to heal and give hope. The racial atmosphere in America  is getting worse. The Church is funding projects left and right. Meanwhile many are hurting. We don't expect our books to solve all the problems in the world, but we hope to provide creative  solutions, for the heart, spirit and soul! Our family is very  arty! We are always dancing, painting, writing, creating, and more! We have had several studios/galleries over the years. We try to write books that are straight from the heart, soul, and spirit. We try to keep it as real as possible. many years ago we saw a need for books that spoke to the need of those Blacks in urban and suburban American. The mainstream Christian books store do not allows carry books that are made for those community. The Christian publishing companies do not always carry books that reflect the need of diversity. We write books that anyone can read with an open mind to learn. Our faith in Jesus Christ in the center of all we do.
